About The Event

21st Annual Yuba River Cleanup

Event coordinator: Frank Rinella 530-906-4116 Sierraguide@sbcglobal.net

The Gold Country Fly Fisher club will once again be responsible for the cleanup on our home waters, the Lower Yuba River. This local event is sponsored by South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL) who will be hosting about 800 volunteers. The cleanup day starts in the parking area under the Parks Bar Bridge on the Marysville (North) side of the bridge at 8:45 am. We will work until 12 noon.

After the Cleanup, come to the Volunteer Appreciation Party in Pioneer Park (1 pm to 3 pm).

Wear sturdy shoes, bring gloves, sunscreen, water, hat, and snacks. We will work in teams on the dry river shore with a group leader at each of about 8 different sites. Small rakes and plastic buckets would be helpful if you have them. If you have a pickup truck, we could definitely use it to haul items back to the parking lot dump site. Your reward is a free lunch and a party at Pioneer Park as well as the great feeling that you worked to cleanup our watershed and your home river.

Sign up at the GCFF September general meeting on September 4th, on our website, or contact Frank directly.
