About The Event

Taught by Clay Hash and Frank Rinella

Meeting place is under the Parks Bar Bridge (a.k.a. Hwy 20 Bridge) on the Grass Valley (South) side.

Directions

This on stream class and clinic will teach advanced nymphing techniques:

⏺ Must have CA fishing license and Steelhead Report Card

⏺ Bring Nymphing Rod, Reel, Fly Line, 9 foot 3x leader, tippet, split shot and an assortment of nymphs

⏺ This Clinic will start with a tabletop class session and then finish with an on the water session

⏺ There will be wading, no deeper than knee deep. Bring a wading staff in necessary

⏺ You may hook and land a fish while practicing techniques so bring your net

⏺ The emphasis will be on learning and practicing techniques not on actual fishing

The table top mini class will discuss water hydraulics and how it affects the choice of techniques and tactics.

We will show you advanced nymph rigging and presentation tactics.

Each club member attendee will receive an “Advanced Nymphing Booklet” provided by Fly Fishing Traditions.

Be prepared to wade; either wet wade or waders; your choice.

Bring:

  • water, lunch or snack, hat, and sunscreen
  • your nymphing rod, leader, tippet, split shot, strike indicators, and Yuba River nymphs
  • your landing net
  • a wading staff in necessary
